iPad Hangs During Backup - One of the most basic things that you should know if you own an iPad is how to
back up.
There would come a time that you would need to restore your iPad. It’s
for different reasons. One reason could be some issues that you have
been encountering, like
crashing apps,
freezing screen, and all that.
Your iPad could only be remedied through a restore. Another reason is
not wanting your
iPad jailbroken any more. If you have jailbroken your
iPad with an untethered jailbreak, then the only easy way to remove the
jailbreak is through a restore. Finally, if you just don’t want the way
your iPad is now, or you’re going to give it away because you’re going
to get a new iPad, then you have to restore your iPad as a new device
right?
Well, whatever the reason is, before you proceed to your restoration you have to know that a restore
is permanent, and once you’ve done it, there’s no way to undo it. That
is why it is very important that you have to back up your iPad first
before anything. So how do you restore your iPad anyway? And how do you back up your files?
How to Back up and Restore iPad Files
Just follow these following steps. First,
you have to connect your device to your computer first with your
connection cable. After that, open up your iTunes. Locate your iPad
under Devices. Once found, right click it and select “Backup”. After the
back up, just repeat the right click, but now select “Restore from
backup”. Your iTunes will prompt you all the way; even after the
restore. You’ll know when your iPad is almost finished restoring the
moment it restarts.
Sometimes though, there are times that
whenever you try to back up your iPad, and you found
ipad hangs during backup. To be more specific,
the back up process starts, and suddenly the iTunes doesn’t recognize
your device as plugged in anymore, only after a couple of seconds.
How to Fix iPad Hangs During Backup
This could be caused by different
reasons. It’s either your
iPad rejects the iTunes, or the iTunes itself
could be the problem. Though aside from this, it could also be caused by
the improper syncing of the two. Maybe the iPad is not really synced to
the iTunes in the first place. If this is the case, then the real
culprit could be just one app. Locate what app it is. Do this by syncing
your iPad as new. Do not sync any apps. If your sync is still okay,
then proceed to sync three apps at a time. Do this until you find the
app that’s causing the issue. After that, delete the other back ups.
Click on Preferences, and then Devices. Delete the back ups.Try backing
up again. It should be okay now.
How to Back up Jailbroken iPad
Now, if your device is jailbroken
however, and you really need to restore your device, but would want to
back up all your jailbreak tweaks and apps as well, then there’s a
Cydia app for that. Before restoring, tap on your Cydia first. Seach for
xBackup. Download and install it. You’re going to be prompted to back up
your device already. Allow it. Sync your iPad to iTunes and proceed
with the restoration procedures already stated. After the restore,
jailbreak your iPad again and redownload xBackup. It’s going to
reinforce the jailbreak tweaks and apps that you had before the restore.
Congratulations! You have just restored your iPad successfully!
