How to setup a password for an app. Do you have kids that use your iPad? Do
you share your device with anyone else? If so, then what do you do to
protect your kids from downloading sensitive apps? Did you know that you
could actually set a
password to prevent the automatic download of
ios apps? Just read on to find out how.
Setting Up A Password For App Purchases
First of all, you need to sign up for an
account at
Apple first. Do this by accessing the Settings, then select
Store, then Apple ID. Once that you have finalized your Apple user
account, then you could create your
password already and set it
under the same category of your Settings. Once that you have finished
setting it up, you could now try and download an app. It should prompt
you to enter your password first before downloading.
Of course, this option could also
encounter some problems and issues. One of the most common is that,
after you have already set up a password before downloading, it still
downloads automatically. Don’t fret. It really happens. It’s normal.
Whenever you enter your password, it gives the user the freedom to
download all he can within the next fifteen minutes – without entering
the password over and over again. A notification box would alert you if
you’re still within that fifteen minutes.
Now, if you have already waited for over
twenty minutes, and your apps still download automatically, then you’re
really encountering a glitch. To solve this issue, sign-out of your
Apple account first. Soft reset your device next. Do this by holding the
Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Do what it says to turn
off your device. Turn it on again. After turning it on, and after it has
already finished loading, access your Apple account and sign-in. After
signing in, check if your password settings are still intact. If they’re
not, set them again. If they’re still okay, then go back to your app
store, and check it out.
