Fixing iPad Won’t Rotate Problem. If you are
technology-inclined person, I know you have already heard
about iPad, am I right? IPad is a tablet computer produced by Apple
Inc., a certified specialist in terms of portable media device and
software development. Do you love iPad? If so, why do you love it?
What I Love About iPad?
Personally, I love iPad. It offers me various modes of entertainment
like playing offline and online games, watching movies, reading digital
books, and listening to music. Aside from those features, I also love
the multitouch capacity of iPad. How on Earth that Apple Inc. staffs
created that kind of device? Well, it is a secret of course. I also love
accessing the internet without using mouse and pressing hard keyboard
keys.
Accelerometer and Screen Rotation in iPad
Another thing I love about
iPad is its
accelerometer.
The accelerometer is the one responsible in rotating or tilting the
display of your iPad depending on how you hold the device. Accelerometer
can be fun to use especially if you are playing games about racing,
like motocross or kart racing.
Accelerometer is quite sensitive. There are several factors that must be considered in enabling the capacity and geniuses of
accelerometer. Here are those factors:
You need to ensure that the applications or games you are using
support accelerometer. You need to consider that there are applications
that have fixed screen position and will not rotate no matter how long
you tilted your iPad screen. It is therefore important to read the
details and full specifications of the applications and games to be
used.
Make it sure that the screen rotation is not locked. Users of iPad
are given the freedom to lock the orientation of their screens, which is
either portrait or landscape. Not all users love to rotate the display
of their iPad because some find it annoying especially if reading
digital books. The first version of iPad does not have a screen
orientation lock key compared to the iPad 2, which has the 4.2 and above
iOS.
Steps to Do When You iPad Won’t Rotate
If you have assured that the game or application you use supports
display rotation, here are the steps you need to do to address that
issue.
There are actually two options you can use when your
iPad won’t rotate problem. For iPad having the iOS 4.2 and above, the screen lock key can be used.
Option 1 using the Screen Lock Key
The screen rotation lock key is located at the right side of your
iPad just beside the volume keys. It is a slide key actually, so if you
decide to lock the screen rotation, you should slide the key and then
point to the lock icon beside the button. You will know if the screen
rotation is locked because it will display a lock icon in the screen.
Change the direction of the sliding screen rotation lock key if you want
the screen to rotate.
Option 2 Changing the IPad Settings
If in case the display of your iPad screen is still not rotating,
check the settings if the lock rotation option is not enabled. Follow
the following steps:
Tap the Home button and then tap Settings.
Tap the General bar and at the bottom of the screen, locate the “Use Slide Switch to:” option. Below it, make it sure that the
Lock Rotation is not checked. If it is checked, it means it is enable, thus, you cannot rotate the screen display.
