AT&T Mark the Spot App for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. AT&T may actually be trying to
do something about it’s network or it is the big marketing sham to get all of the U.S iPhone users to actually THINK they are going to do something about the poor network coverage.
Only time will tell (and service or lack there of).
But
in all reality, the app is pretty well designed. The user interface is
good, allowing for big easy to use buttons and the normal blues that
most iPhone applications feature.
The actual use of the
AT&T Mark the Spot application for iphone, ipad and ipod touch goes something like this. You experience a drop call at your house. You log on to the application
(if you have service) and record that you had a dropped call at the
current location, tell them it happened “once, seldom, often, always”
and click submit. AT&T will then send you a
free text message at their leisure to let you know they received your
complaint about their poor service.
Not
only does the AT&T app allow you to report dropped calls, you can
also report failed call, no coverage, data failure, and poor voice
quality. The additional info tab is also useful if you want to explain
the situation maybe picking up another carriers tower, etc.
You
may wonder how you would report a problem with their data service if
you don’t have actual service. Well don’t worry! AT&T already
thought of that for you, you have the ability to use “Current Location”
or select the map button and point it out to them there. This actually
was well thought out and I commend their effort on the feature.
The
use of this
AT&T Mark the Spot App can only bring positive changes in the future for
AT&T customers. The spotty 3G coverage in urban areas, dropped calls
in
the hills, and other poor
service overall could be improved if AT&T takes the data they most
definitely will be receiving well into the future with
this app.
